PHOENIX, Ariz. – The 4th annual Real, Wild + Woody Beer Festival will cap off a week of lively and informative craft beer events across the city, leading thousands of thirsty craft beer fans and business owners to descend on Downtown Phoenix this summer.
Though the sweltering summer months can prove a struggle for some Downtown businesses, the Guild’s special event lineup ensures an influx of visitors to city streets, who are booking hotel rooms, securing dinner reservations and otherwise contributing to the state’s economy this summer. While Real, Wild + Woody is the city’s marquee summer beer event, several additional industry offerings cater to folks in all facets of the state’s craft beer community.
First up is the AZBrewCon Conference and Tradeshow, which is set for Thursday and Friday, July 27 and 28, 2017, at Events on Jackson (245 E Jackson St., Phoenix). AZBrewCon kicks off with “Choose AZ Beverages,” an Arizona-exclusive tasting event and trade show featuring in-state products, brands, craft breweries, wineries and distilleries. An additional component is a day-long conference designed for folks on both sides of the brewing industry, with options for participants to follow either a “technical track,” which focuses on the art of brewing itself, or an “operations track,” which emphasizes marketing, trademarking, distributing and related topics. Craft brewers and small business owners from across the state and nation are encouraged to take part in this industry gathering and lend their support to the brewing community during the summer season.
While AZBrewCon is geared towards those already in the industry, the Guild invites everyone looking to join the craft beer community in some aspect to take part. Craft beer bar owners, aspiring brewery owners, members of the media and those that wish to just learn more about the brewing community are all encouraged to attend.
Also on the roster for the summer’s biggest week in beer are a plethora of pre-planned events, among them craft beer dinners, happy hours and other opportunities to get out and support Arizona’s small businesses during the often-slower summer season.
“It’s a great way to draw crowds to Downtown Phoenix during the summer, and breweries and businesses have come up with some great events where craft beer drinkers can indulge in everything the state has to offer,” said Arizona Craft Brewers Guild Executive Director Rob Fullmer. “There’s a whole lot more to Arizona than just good weather, and it is one of the goals of the Guild to spread this message and help draw more folks to the state.”
